datzenmike
This is something that Datsun owners have to do for themselves I'm afraid. Vintage cars are that way. Not many parts and not many people around that know much about them or how to work on them. In addition they have had more than one dick head owner who took short cuts to keep it running. Messy wiring.... assume messy means lots of 'stuff' not working right and not just needing some split harness covering and electrical tape?? Be sure to get a $4 test lamp from Crap Tire. Electricity is invisible and this handy little gizmo will allow you to know instatly is there is power at a fuse or wire. Next is a FSM (factory service manual) for your year of S-30. Pretty much pays for itself the first time you use it. It will have the complete electrical diagram and all the individual circuits for wiper, heater, ignition, headlamps, gauges... you get the idea. Here are some links to electrical diagrams, modifications and trouble shooting on the Z car... http://atlanticz.ca/zclub/techtips/electrical.htm Zcars are problematic when it comes to the fusible links. Research this and perhaps replace them with 'real' fuses. Quote Link to comment

datzenmike
Still, it's better to do and learn yourself. Otherwise you're paying someone else to learn how. Quote Link to comment
SlammedSunny
If you really don't want to tackle it yourself, Contact Kurk Mckay from Mckay power products. He specializes in Z car wiring and is based out of Sooke, BC. 1 Quote Link to comment

datzenmike
Well then, helps to know that there is no EFI involved and it's just a few wires to connect for a distributor V8. Quote Link to comment
