What do you mean?

So on a non-LSD diff when one wheel spins forward the other will spin backwards.

Get this...it will do it the same the other way too.

okay but then the car won't move when it's on the ground.

i have an appointment at the muffler shop tomorrow and now this is fucking me up lol

You need to be more specific.

I'm still really confused as to what you mean.

How can you tell it is spinning backwards if it is on the ground. Maybe's it's stuck/frozen.

You're right. sorry im just extremely pissed/rush

so after bolting up the driveshaft, the car will not move forward and I don't seem to be able to put the car in reverse however i have not bled my clutch etc.

with the car on the ground, it just jiggles a bit when being pushed but no forward or reverse movement. when I brought the wheels up, they turned pretty easy but one opposite of the other. I'm not sure what's wrong.

sorry for not being specific enough.

Should be able to move it then.  Is this transmission any good?

It was moving in all of the gears before hand. i didnt seem to have any issues with it but now im thinking my tranny is stuck or something

With an open diff and both drive wheels off the ground, when you spin one wheel the other will spin in reverse.  This is normal.  If you hold one wheel fixed and spin the other, or spin both wheels the same direction the driveshaft will need to spin too, even if you spin the wheels at different speeds (this is the purpose of a diff, so your outside wheel can spin faster around a turn since the outside wheel has to cover more distance in a turn).  If the pinion gear inside the diff is jammed, or the driveshaft is jammed (by the trans or whatever), you won't be able to spin both drive wheels in the same direction (or hold one fixed and spin the other).

and how am i able to diagnose if it's the tranny or the driveshaft?

That would mean it's the tranny because I've already lifted the rear and turned the wheels.

what i dont understand is that I had been turning the crankshaft in order to move the driveshaft to the perfect spot to bolt up.

wouldn't that mean the tranny is fine?

It really shouldn't matter the state of the clutch or fluid in the trans if it's truly out of gear, in neutral, unless I'm missing something...like my brain

I don't see the clutch or fluid being any issue. especially since the tranny is in neutral however the reverse wont work?
