Got an ex whos dad works at nissan in tn and hes willing to ship me a weber from the usa. Just need a list of parts. Theres 8 weber 32/36's and 5 different plates coming back. For the L datsun motors.

Also 32/36 or 38? Ive seen both. And a few twin 38's lately.

Here's a decent install thread for an L series engine

http://datsunminitruckin.com/32-36-weber-install_topic128.html

But basically, carb with filter, and adapter plate. All the other stuff should be easily sourced in Australia. It's some random fuel fittings, maybe a throttle lever, but you can usually use your own, etc.

And for 90% of users, the 32/36 is the best option. Good power but without total murder of fuel efficiency.

Doesn't really help if you don't say what the "8 kinds" of Webers they seem to have.  I can think of 4 versions- DGV (manual choke) and DGEV (electric choke) with or without idle cut solenoids.  Don't get a DF(whatever), it's backwards.

Adapter plate is an adapter plate.  If it fits one L-series, it'll fit em all.  Bolt pattern was the same every year for the 2-bbl downdraft Hitachi or Nikki carb.

Got a full kit evdrything inc from a member of the local datsun club. (Usa guy) 140 + shipping to aus. 32/36 weber filters plate rebuild kit manual choke. Everything i need. Easier to do it this way anyway. Can't find the throttle return spring for sale anywhere.

Do you live 100 miles out of town. And town is a petrol station and a shop? Why else would i have 3 30,000L fuel storage tanks. Not everyone can live 5 minutes from town

Does your carby have 430,000km on it. All of it hard towing. The factory carb is so dodgy its not worth risking. The choke heater doesnt work. Cant get one. The idle cut solo is bipassed. The carb and motor have never been touched.

Day i bought it it had a 5000 pound trailer on it. Air shocks on zero front riding the bump stops. Rims totaled. 10 year old tires. My f150 xlt struggles with the trailer. It still has to tow my 3500 pound 6 wheel drive and 500 pounds of hey for feeding. We never got f trucks or chevys my f truck was a convert. Full fordged steel frame. Heavier dual rear setup. Turn table.. coil overs 31 inch muds. 2 300L fuel tanks 1 200L lpg tank. Also have a 1977 ss torana. Currently at a worth of about 75,000. Insurance for 62,500. Like i said before. I am not used to webers my f truck runs a 7.3L(efi) and my ss a factory 253v8(holly). My other cars are a 2002 bmw. An alfa romeo spider (2002) town car running 17s. 2 tractors a harvester. 3 trailers. 2 trucks..have 300 cows across 4 blocks. Yeah im over extended. I work 7 days a week 4 am to 9 at night. Plus i work part time for a vet locally.

Sheet, Man, you need a good hobby to use up some of your spare time. Is the Torana a GM product? Welcome to Ratsun.

there a race car. Holden was bought out by gm yes. a 253v8 will bolt right into a datsun. same as newer ford v8's and some big block Holden motors (308v8)

back in the day when aus only had ford and holden as local brand cars we had a lot of ford vs holden raceing the ss was a biproduct. they sold enough to put them on the track then stopped for the most part

a nissan/datsun never touched that track or that season till last year. its been a rivalry for over 50 years.

we differ from the us in a big way in that 80% of our family cars are big block v8's.

most people here wont buy a 4 or 6 heck the goverment is just as bad. we have some of the fastest every day cop cars in the world. a few come to mind that push 900hp at the rear wheels. normal cars push well over 300.

even my 75 year old grandma has a super charged v8 wagon.

mum has a sandman pushing 600hp at the rear.

we dont go for 6's or 4's family cars have to have power. us doesnt get that.

but then again a hand gun is jail time here. assult rifle parts get you 2 years. a knife will get you jail time still

im in a very small group owning a datsun.

datsun's and later nissans never sold well till the gu/gq even now they still get eaten alive by ford and holden.

With regard to the return spring, I haven't ever seen one come in a kit. All the guys on here running one just made some thing work. Have the guy shipping you the carb go buy a couple different assortment packs of small springs from an auto parts store and send them with the carb.

A good spring to use, but will have to be modified, is a generic Holley 4 BBL return spring. They have the right tension, but are pretty long. Another spring I like to use is the return springs off British SU carbs, no, not the Z car SU's. Find a spring for an early MGB.

opel izuzu

Nice place u have there

Opel izuzu was the holden gemni a common car.

Toranas were rare. The a9x is on 300k (they built 500 for the public to race them) ss ( low 1000s built) is from 60 to 150k. No torana ever left aus. They also had issues selling 6cyc and 4 cyc models. 90% of the ones ive seen are v8s mine is. Also the slr 5000 (less then 100 known to be left.) a real one will net close to a quarter mill in bad nic. In good nick they get insane prices
