MantisX620
At idle, my disti makes a knocking noise. When I unhook the vacuum line to it, it stops knocking. When I rev the engine with the vacuum line hooked up, the knocking stops. As soon as the rpm comes down, it knocks again. Truck drives fine but the noise sounds like shit. Anyone have this happen before or any ideas why? Thanks MantisX Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
Make sure your idle speed is about 700-800 RPMs. There should be NO vacuum advance at idle so if the throttle is too far open it may be getting some. Hopefully you aren't going to now say that this is not the stock carb. Do you have the vacuum advance and the EGR hoses swapped? It shouldn't matter at idle but... vacuum advance is the hose to the front and EGR is more to the rear. Quote Link to comment
MantisX620
It's a set of R1 carbs on it lol. The vacuum source is coming from runner 1 of the intake manifold. Should I put a restricter on the line or just not run it at all? Thanks MantisX Quote Link to comment
banzai510(hainz)
try not running it at all and do about 12-14deg and see if that works. I would pull the dizzy out and spin it . I seem my weights and spring fall apart but still ran Quote Link to comment
