theeoracle
Does anyone know where i can get some new con-rods that aren't to much money. I've seen these on ebay. Does anyone know if they are good and will work? >>>> http://www.ebay.com/itm/CXRacing-H-Beam-Connecting-Rods-DATSUN-L-Engine-L16-L18-L20-510-/140800857080?vxp=mtr&hash=item20c86293f8 These are mine on all 4. Doctor510
Just get yours re-sized with NEW ARP bolts, probably UNDER $100. If you want to get the ones on eBay, you will have to get new pistons (forged with full floating pins, 3-$400. Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
What's wrong with yours??? Clean em' up and put new bearings on them, install on the crank and torque to spec using plasti-gauge. If the clearance is close enough run them in the rebuild. For those more concerned with 'doing it right'. Use an outside micrometer on the crank and an inside micrometer on the rods torqued with new bearings in place. The differences are the clearances and will show if the crank or rod is tapered or oval. The rods can be 'sized' to bring them back to like new. All L20B and early Z22 rods are the same. Take the cap off and stand upright on a flat surface and measure up to the center of the small hole for the piston pin. L20B/Z22 rods are 145.9mm or 5.74846" 3 Quote Link to comment

scooter
Yeah those look fine. Clean them and torque them and get a shop to check the roundness, if theyre within .0002 your golden. Theyre probibly good. Datsun rods are strong, the bolts are the weak point. If you put arp's in your going to be resizing them anyway. The ebay ones are l16 or l24 length, none are l20b length. And if you find some that are, let me know. Quote Link to comment
