unable to remove front rims. think something is wrong

Recommended Posts

got new tires a little while ago on the front and just noticed a crack through the rim and one nut is bent slightly(wtf?) i  asked the shop to hand tighten them. by hand. far as ive found i cant even get them off with a rattle gun. looks like 1 or two bolts may have bent as well. i have to replace my rear tires (who leaves tires from 2003 on a car and sells it?) but i want to do the front too. so do i use 205 fronts and 235 rears (75) or grab a set of 15's or keep my sunraiser rims? (aftermarket 4x4 rims done custom with custom caps)

like this but custom 14's with caps think the offsets were neg 22 front (un capped center bored ) and rear was +30 with center bore and caps

will get pics in a few of mine

If they went on, then they can come off. Just left turn them. If they break off so what, they are being replaced anyway. If the stud strips and starts turning in the rim them probably the only option is to split the nuts.

If it's on a rim that's cracked and you a going to trash the rim anyways

Get a sawzall and a semi long metal blade and push it in till the blade bends behind the nut or go rite through the nut

Or get a acetylene torch and cut it off

they got it off with a plasma cutter at a body shop in town

It would only break the studs which if they a cross threaded they are pooched anyway.

the threads were fucked. 2 were bent to hell and back.

And at their expense?  Their F)(* up, so their repair!

they covered it. in full.

sorted it out now. rims are off and the front right rim was cracked right through (almost clean in half) just got a set of new tires.

got a question however. i have 235/75R14's (about a month old) that i got for one of my other cars but didn't end up fitting as the tire was to large for the rim.

typo meant to put i want to put 235/75/14's front and back. (what issues should i expect?)

also have a set of 15 inch +60 rims that came off my f150 about a year ago. if i stick road tires onto them will they fit a stock 720? i know the chances are low. i have from stock to about 5 inches of lift in the rear (air shocks) but the offset is a problem

I think lots of Ford use a different lug pattern, don't they? And check out willtheyfit.net. you can input your stock rim and tire setup and whatever new setup you want and it will show you how they differ and give measurements. Then go back outside to your truck and see if those measurements look good.

lug patten is the same. rims sort of fit. (if you count 1/3 of an inch of thread sticking out) i have 235's on the back. my fronts are still 215's i know they will fit the rims. just don't know if they will fit the car.
