dstew521840
I have a 1987 hardbody ext cab and recently purchased a 1995 single cab donor. swapped both the 5spd tranny and the rear end. Now the problem is the pinion flanges are different bolt patterns so I tried swapping them with no luck, the flange from the 87 wouldnt mate up to the 95 axle. Is there anyone on here that has ran into this problem and any suggestions On how I can use the factory driveshaft wich is obviously needed being its for an ext cab or do I need to find drive shaft from later model hardbody? By the way the axle from the 95 is a hf35 if that helps not sure about the 87 axle. Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
HF35 is an H-190 and 3.545 ratio. Check the engine tag on the inner fender under the passenger side hood hinge to see if it's a match. Doubtful a '95 driveshaft will match an '87 for length but you could have the flange removed from it and put on your 87 driveshaft. Welcome to Ratsun Quote Link to comment
dstew521840
Thanks for the response... thats what I was thinking swapping the flanges on the shaft but the u joints on the 95 is larger so i think my only option is to find a ext cab 95 shaft or get the 95 flange welded to the 87 shaft Quote Link to comment
Lockleaf
You can always drill the new bolt pattern into the old flange. Quote Link to comment
