Not 420 Just 720
Has anyone ever installed a 1986 720 complete a/c unit from another vehicle? I'm wondering if a newer hard body a/c would work. 1 Quote Link to comment
Draker
It would make more sense to just install it from a another 720 wouldn't it? 1 Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
The 720 a/c unit is located midway between the blower fan and the heater. On non a/c 720s this space is just a 4" hose. Who knows where the D21 is. 1 Quote Link to comment
Charlie69
No you would have to change dash and many other parts to make it work. Find one out of a 720 from the wrecking yard. I put a 720 AC and heater in my 520. I have pulled many hardbody dashes and pulled complete wiring harnesses. The hard body heater is a different animal. 1 Quote Link to comment
Lockleaf
For what it's worth, you should have all the wiring for ac in your harness already. The compressor is the same on the 86 720 as all the z24 d21 trucks as well. But the under dash parts are hard part. Quote Link to comment
