Servo style vs Borg Warner style tranny

I'm trying to figure out if I have a servo style or Borg Warner style tranny without having to take it apart. I know you can look through the fill hole and try to determine that way but I was wondering if anyone knew the cut off date according to the serial number of the car. My serial number is SRL31107332. It's a 1969 2000 with matching numbers.

My info only goes far enough to show both types were used on the 2000.

Had this picture for ages. Its a Warner on the left and a Porsche on the right

synchrotypesWarnerandPorschesteel.jpg Maybe this will help kick start some extra info.

I believe the supposed change over was around 9k or 10k. With the age of these cars, any more, the only way to know for sure is to look in the trany. As you alluded to, that can be accomplished by looking in the fill hole. No need to disassemble the transmission.

Look at the data tag on the transmission! The Brass synchro [borg Warner] is P/N 32010-A2550. The Steel synchro / servo [FS5C71A] is P/N 32010-25551. The NISMO optional gear ration sets were only to be installed on the steel synchro transmission.

Source for info 1987 NISMO catalog!
