monkbonk
I found a motor on eBay from LKQ automotive with an alleged 6 month warranty (as long as I follow their steps of install/refresh). Was wondering if anyone had any experience with them or with their warranties? They have a good presence on a couple automotive forums (I googled), but they do have some negative reviews on the BBB and a couple other sites. I really just need feedback on their warranty follow-through. I'm ordering a longblock Jeep 4.0 Quote Link to comment
flatcat19
LKQ is who runs a lot of junkyards around us. Across the nation. Better warranty than you'll receive elsewhere for a used motor. I use LKQ a lot at work with never a problem. Quote Link to comment
monkbonk
I went ahead and ordered it. They are willing to ship it to the bottom of my driveway - all for $499.. Pretty cheap for a motor, given the warranty period and miles (134k). Quote Link to comment
Lonestar
I work for LQK, the motors are compress tested and checked for any visual damage. It's still recommend that you replace all the seals before use. All the people that leave negativity are people whom run shops and bitch about things not getting to their shop on time or it was the wrong part because they can't tell the front desk what kind of car they are working on. If you have a problem with the engine, they will honor their warranty has long has it is within the time period. 2 Quote Link to comment
thisismatt
I bought a hard to find driveshaft through them online (Xterra 4x2 VQ40 6sp) and was pleased with the transaction, despite reading a lot of negative reviews about them charging but then not delivering parts. I actually got the part quite quickly. I think a lot of negative reviews are from people who shouldn't be trying to work on vehicles or just aren't bright enough to buy the correct parts. 1 Quote Link to comment
Gradyfest
I love my visits to my local LKQ. Cheap parts, dudes are always kool, and you never know what you'll find! Never bought anything online or as big as an engine, but I would. Especially with a warranty, what do you have to lose? Quote Link to comment
monkbonk
They just cancelled my order for being out of stock. Quote Link to comment
ericsb210
After all of the positive vibes, go figure. Quote Link to comment
monkbonk
I am going to look locally for a week. There are some other outfits, but they are $100 more and I have to somehow unload it from a semi. Quote Link to comment
Robertos
Hi, i`m also have a question about used car engine sellers. Anyone buy engines from this company: https://orbimotors.com/? Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
This is a European company? Datsun engines are on the other side of the planet. I guess it depends on what engine you're after. Quote Link to comment
