Push the panel bond between the skin and frame, and clamp together with vise grips, using a piece of wood on each side

DP40LF

Yes it is grey green and the top color is white, but I think the DP40 holds better over bare metal then the white DP. however if the areas are already primed with something i would run white DP. my 2 cents

I let dry over night and resand with 600gt wet in a soapy bucket of water. Morning is a better time to paint then evening.

Doors are next to paint

Sanding, these have been sandblasted for some time but i like to sand them smooth with 150gt. and find any problems.

Very happy so far

20160818_134506_1471626873298_resized_zp

Then i found this on driver doors and last one to sand, over looked it in the past, 2 hair line cracks

20160818_141820_1471626871612_resized_zp

Welded the cracks then used a grinding wheel, wasn't going for perfect smooth, didn't want to take to much of the extra metal off.

Real happy with how well everything is coming out, super sonic line in order and sheet metal is flat, Paint sprayed out great.

These panel all got blocked and primed min 4 times. Each time i actually black a ton of material off so just to use the material needed to make flat. and not to get to thick of a material thickness.

Got up early and wet sanded everything with 600gt then wax and grease removed and painted

No matter how you try, it STILL doesn't look like as much work as it is. It just doesn't.

Great job by the way! I never wetsanded with a DA, my old boss was against them.... Said too much vibration and thought it could cause a wavy finish. Idk, like I said I never tried it.

Always wetsanded with a block. And I feel your pain on that door too, I've ruined a few paint jobs with those wool pads, foam is more user friendly to me. What compound do you use these days? I always used 3m perfect-it.

Seldom do I do anything perfect....

Yep the act of the fix wasn't the worriment, it was burning the paint that is finished on the inside of the engine bay. Thanks for the positive feed back.

And it was a success

This was Metalguy Chris idea i went with on the fix here is the photo text
