Angela
I've heard that there's some old Volvos that used air cleaners that would also fit SSS Twin SU's. Does anyone out there is Ratsunville know what year/Model/etc? I'm looking for an air cleaner set up for some SSS twin SU's I'm having rebuilt. Any help would be infinitely appreciated. Need a heat shield too! Thanks! Angela Quote Link to comment
shacks510
You could try looking on some English car classifieds for both items. Not sure if the Japanese Hitachi SU head shield is the same as the genuine British SU. Air filter housing may be unique to each cars manifold setup. Quote Link to comment
MikeRL411
Need to know what year and model you are trying to match up! Early Roadster models [310 and 311], RL411, 510 SSS, and late model "SSS" so called variants all use different air filter housings and therefor have incompatiblly sized filters. Quote Link to comment
Jester
It says 510 in her signature. Quote Link to comment
Stoffregen Motorsports
Volvo P1800, 122S, 144. Basically any Volvo between 1960 and about 1972. These guys might have some. http://www.ipdusa.com/ Quote Link to comment
Angela
Thanks to all who replied with suggestions. This Volvo thing was a suggestion I thought I'd follow up on but perhaps I should ask a more specific question of all the experts here on Ratsun... I want to run some SSS twin SU carbs on my 510 Wagon & would prefer a single air filter unit that will cover both carbs & won't require a lot of modifications to make it work. Anyone have suggestions or leads for either finding an original SSS SU air cleaner housing, making one, or something off another make/model that'll work well? After chasing gremlins in my wagon & a botched Weber 32/36 that the previous owner drilled holes in, I'm praying for some luck on this endeavor. Any & all suggestions are appreciated : ) Angela Quote Link to comment
Jester
Contact Steve Epperly @ Z Therapy. If he doesn't have one, I would be surprised. He has made a few custom one that are pretty cool too. Quote Link to comment
