Sealik
I have this miss at idle/no load in my LZ23 that I've been trying to locate, so I preformed a leak down test. My vacuum gauge and wide band have very erratic readings. Cylinders 1-3 have about a 9% loss. Cylinder 4 has about a 13% loss. All the air is coming from the crankcase....which means < rings. But.....it sounds like air is also coming from around the base of the No 4 intake spring??? If the intake valve is not seating correctly I should hear air coming from the rear carb...but nay. Or.....if the exhaust valve was compromised if should hear something out the tail pipe......but.....nothing No water in oil or oil in water...no air bubbling in coolant While No 4 was still pressurized (90lb) at TDC I rotated the engine a tad......the air loss/noise increased from that valve spring locale. ??? Thoughts? Quote Link to comment
Stoffregen Motorsports
Did you try rocking the motor back and forth slightly when doing the leakdown? How about tapping the valve or rocker slightly to make sure the valve was seated? Quote Link to comment
Sealik
Well...I did rotate the engine a bit. I didn't whack the valve (yet) because......if the intake valve isn't seated correctly there should be air coming out the rear carb????..... and there isn't. Quote Link to comment
