Brake Booster For 510

Recommended Posts

I put Maxima rear disk brakes on my 510 but kept the 3/4 inch master cylinder. That combo had more pedal travel than I like.

So, I went to 15/16 inch master cylinder.  I like the pedal travel but the pedal effort is very high.

I am thinking about adding a power brake booster. But there is not a lot of room, especially since the engine has dual Mikuni carbs.

Does anyone have a suggestion as to which power brake booster would most likely fit?

PL 510s? where  was this a option?

He should say so, it's critical for clearance.

I'll look up the part numbers for it. Option I believe, so maybe uncommon. Maybe not in Canada, eh? Pitty.

Well,I personally have never seen a 510 (non coupe/bluebird)here with a factory installed booster.

I can see it being jdm market only, heck we had front drums on our 68s lol

Manuals made alot of mistakes, info was over printed etc..

You running front ZX struts/brakes also? You could forget the booster and get a 7/8" master from a 240Z-280Z. I have the ZX/ rear Maxima brakes on my 510 and recently replaced the ZX mc with a 7/8" mc from Troy Ermish. I'll tell you what!!! it works a whole lot better than the ZX mc with much better feel at the pedal. You could go out and buy the 7/8 MC but you need to replace the pressure valve behind the brake line in the MCfor the rear brakes with the valve from your ZX mc. It's a one beer job easy or just make the purchase from Ermish and simply bench bleed and install. But the push rod has to be shortened about 1/4" to get it in if you're using the ZX push rod. You could use the brake booster as that ZX MC was designed for a booster and not using one is why you're pedal is rock hard.
