Lockleaf
I have an l18 from a 620 that I'm prepping for my '71 510 wagon. I know I need a 510 oil pan/pickup tube, but since my car didn't come with an engine, I'm lacking those. Getting to my point, is there a reason this pan is a bad idea? http://m.ebay.com/itm/291473541988?_mwBanner=1 Price, tilt of the pan, wrong sump, etc? Thanks guys. Quote Link to comment
shacks510
That won't clear your steering center link. The ad also says naps Z; those lean the opposite way as an L series. Seller clearly doesn't know what they're selling. Just use a stock 510 oil pan AND pickup. The two matching is important. They're not that hard to find, and will be reasonably priced. 1 Quote Link to comment

I can't believe someone paid 40 bucks for that pile of shit. The pic brought back some memories of building baffles and scrapers for L series pans. Does anybody even do that anymore? On the L series I mean... Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
Maybe for an auto cross or if you are really serious and carve the roads. Almost 100% don't, can't be bothered or don't care. For them it's not needed. My Dart came with factory windage tray bolted to the main bearing caps. 1 Quote Link to comment
