I found a 728 402 head but no 403. Its a round port wet inlet closed chamber the 402 is a dry inletAny gurus out there? Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
Just put the wet intake gasket on, mark the holes and drill them out.... easy. Quote Link to comment
Pr0t0lyfe
Its in and all put together. I just wanted to know is the 728 403 a wet inlet variation of the 728 402 head? So are the heads identical excepth for those holes Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
Early intake and exhausts (through '79) were mechanically joined and the intake warmed by exhaust heat to aid cold running. Later the manifolds are separate and water from the head flows through the intake runners to warm the intake air (when cold) but it also cools it in extreme heat in the summer, which hot exhaust cannot. ggzilla is our A series guru. If the heads look otherwise the same, just drill it out for water. Quote Link to comment
