]2eDeYe
What ratio do you currently have back there? You might be better off sourcing a 5-speed. 1 Quote Link to comment
bryant2482
I used a 3.55 out of a hard body. And yea like DEYE said a 5 speed wouldn't be a bad idea either 1 Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
Look under the pass side hood hinge on the inner fender for the engine tag. Stamped on the bottom row is the TRANS/AXLE ..... F4W71B..... HF43 The 43 means 4.375 ratio but could say 41 for 4.11 or 39 for 3.90. See what it says as 3,500 @50 isn't right. I assume you have a tack? and not going by engine noise? The 2wd Z24 powered trucks easily ran 3.90 or 3.70s in them. 3.545s were also used but will be sluggish. The Z24 is a torque monster and will pull them all. As mentioned gears from another 720 s the easiest and you can shop by looking at the engine tags. 2 Quote Link to comment
