Z22 Carburetor options

I'm looking for different ideas on replacement carburetors for my z22. Since I can't afford to go with a Weber I was thinking about using a 2100 series Autolite and making an adapter. I like that the Autolite is simple, cheap and easy to rebuild. With 1.08 venturies, the Autolite runs about 300 cfm. Would this be a sufficient output for the z22? Do you see any problems with running this carb? I'll be running KA24 pistons and that's about it as far as engine mods. I'll be using stock exhaust until I can afford a header. Thanks again for your help.

Redline Weber are $300 or less. Include everything needed.

KA24E pistons (used truck pistons would be the most common and cheapest) in good shape will work. This will make you Z22 into a 22.88cc engine. Absolutely stock the compression will be 8.4. To gain a bit more compression mill the head 0.5mm (0.020") for 8.75 compression or 1mm (0.040") for just over 9 to one.

Forget headers. Your Z22 exhaust will breath fine enough at the RPMs you'll be running it. Spend the money saved on a new 2" exhaust without the cat and a 'turbo' style muffler.. and maybe a straight through 'glass pack' resonator on the back.

Yeah just keep the stock manifold and get new pipe with a muffler you prefer. I'm running the trush turbo on stock pipe which gives it a nice deep throaty sound.

I also went with the Weber 38 but its up to you whichever one you want, 32/36 or 38/38. I personally went with the 38 cause I know I'm gonna abuse it a little. haha
