NC280z
So I'm hoping any of you who may have a A/F gauge on your vehicle can answer my latest question. My car starts easily, idles well and drives well also, but the idle AFR is at 12, cruising is around 13.5~14, and WOT goes to 11~12. Are these numbers normal? I feel like I may be making an issue where there isn't one. All I have left to do on my restoration is bodywork, and I'm spending time that could be used on the exterior on troubleshooting the engine instead. Any advice? Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
Stoichiometric or perfect air fuel ratio is close to 15 to 1. Idle should be near this and very slightly rich, maybe 14 to one. This will give the least amount of waste when idling at lights and so forth. Cruise speed with light throttle and load can be similar but WOT for performance acceleration can go down into the 12s. Lower than this is a bit too rich and probably isn't helping Quote Link to comment
