It's not that they are giving me problems. Its just there are no vaccumm lines on the motor at all. So if someone has a diagram that would be awesome. And are there any other carbs I could put on there

Go to the 720 section on this forum, look at the thread "my first 720! And first Datsun", the vacuum diagrams were recently posted on there. Just scroll through and you'll find it immediately.

As for carbs, I've seen Rochester's, I've seen Holly's, but Webers are definitely the most commonly used due to a kit being online. It will come with a steel plate the size of the base of the carb, that will allow you to bolt it right up.

If you're planning on changing your carb, do it now and avoid having the headache of the vacuum lines like Justin said. Redline sells the Weber for $300, or keep an eye out in the classified section on this forum, or even eBay.

The Weber uses way less vacuum lines, so setup is really straight forward. Plus there's info all over this site on how to install and tune. To find things I usually just Google search what I'm looking for, then add Ratsun at the end.

If you want to keep it stock, look through the thread I told you about for the vacuum diagram, see how it runs and go from there. I personally like the stock carb for a cruiser/around town car, but they're pretty gutless.

Could this engine be more confusing? Look on the top of the block where it meets the head between the #2 and #3 exhaust plugs. The engine size is stamped there. If a Z22 it was only used from '81 to '82. Get a vacuum line diagram for it. Or just connect the vacuum advance from the carb to the distributor. Not perfect but will run as good as possible.

Can you just ask your dad and end your confusion on the history of it? Use the diagram on Brohemius' thread, it's the same and will work. Once you're at the truck, post up some pictures of it, then some of your engine situation. You will get it figured out even if you do vacuum advance on the carb to the distributor to make it simple. But I suggest waiting until you're at the truck, so you're not running in circles asking questions that can't really be answered yet.

All I ok now is that my dad swapped motors it didn't have the Z24 in it originally so all in trying to find is someone with a vacuum diagram and detailed pictures

Yes is could have been a Z20 originally, they also came on the '85 as an option. It could have been a Z 24 and was swapped to a Z22 before he got it. It could be anything but what matters is the stamp on the block between the exhaust pipes. Only way to get the correct engine is to identify by the block number. With it hundreds of miles away it doesn't matter much.

Otherwise just plug everything except the distributor vacuum advance, this will do.

If you can't afford new, I'd highly recommend putting a used carb on it before trying to start it, or at least removing and cleaning that one as best as you can.
