ggzilla
Let's see, they came from the Datsun factory like that. Center pull, the best 1 Quote Link to comment
Dolomite
His carbs are l18 sss, if I remember correctly. They have non cable linkage, and it works well, why change it? 1 Quote Link to comment
ggzilla
As I understand * 510 SSS 1800 was crank linkage * 810 SSS 1800 was cable linkage Quote Link to comment
uberkevin
I sure would love to have that little piece.. Quote Link to comment
uberkevin
From this photo it looks like it's pull throttle Quote Link to comment
Just Joel
His carbs are l18 sss, if I remember correctly. They have non cable linkage, and it works well, why change it? Excessive slop, NLA worn out parts, over complicated and ugly ;) 1 Quote Link to comment
Doctor510
It's daylight now, I think I have what you need. I'll check and post pictures. 1 Quote Link to comment
Dolomite
Excessive slop, NLA worn out parts, over complicated and ugly ;) No slop if set up correctly, only wear parts are bushings which can be replaced, complicated onlyto the slow, ugly is subjective. Throttle cables break, never seen crank linkage break. Mine has been reliably daily driven for a damn long time. 1 Quote Link to comment
MikeRL411
My crank linkage is 48 years old and has never given me any trouble. 1 Quote Link to comment
Just Joel
complicated onlyto the slow lol... Really? I may be slow but it's obvious even to me that a cable sliding through the sheath is far and beyond simpler than multiple pivots and adjusters, working and relying on one an others perfect, sequential compliance. 1 Quote Link to comment
Draker
Neither are complicated.. one just has more parts. The cable is cleaner.. for sure. I've got the crank type. It works just as good. But more potential for slop.. that's fo sho. 2 Quote Link to comment
Draker
Wait, you said over complicated.. yeah it's a bit of a rube goldberg machine. 1 Quote Link to comment
That4doorKiD
I have gas pedal cable linkages available right now -720 -620 -B-210 and 521 which ones would fit ? I think the gas pedal has push linkage on it. I'd rather have cable because i drive better with it and feels good. Quote Link to comment
ggzilla
None of them fit that carburetor setup. It is also missing parts. 1 Quote Link to comment
Fat510
my dad and i made our own i bought new linkage at a nissan dealership near me 1 Quote Link to comment
ggzilla
Yes. Some Nissan dealers will find Datsun parts, while most say they can't. Common Hitachi sidedraft parts are still available, but they aren't making new ones. Quote Link to comment
Fat510
Yes, It really depends who is working the counter that day But the linkage was listed on eBay and the seller turned out to be Bruce-Titus of Olympia Quote Link to comment
Son_of_a_Datsun_Guy
Oooh, so that linkage is legit? Might have to go get some. Quote Link to comment
That4doorKiD
UPDATE*** Ok, so I made a spacer so, the cable throttle could fit since the nose would hit my pedal inside the car and used a Frontier gas pedal. I just had to fab the pedal to lower the cable socket and meet the firewall whole. Hard to explain but the oics... my first time welding, and by myself too  No holes drilled in the making too, just drilled in the spacer from former gas linkage :geek: Quote Link to comment
Fat510
did you try swapping your stock cable for a 720 cable instead of the spacer? 720 cables are shorter Quote Link to comment
That4doorKiD
I got the cable off a late maxima. i made a spacer because the nose(too long) of the cable hose would hit the pedal inside my car, so i needed a spacer Quote Link to comment
