flatcat19
I don't own the truck yet, but title says it all. Going to go pick it up soon, but thats the description current owner is giving me. I plan on driving it home, 65 miles. I have no other option. Brainstorming session in 3...2...1... 1 Quote Link to comment
ggzilla
Bring tool and back off the adjusters a bit. 2 Quote Link to comment
banzai510(hainz)
bring a 11mm brake wrench or 11mm. I had on my 521 the master cyl would pump up and not release. I had to break the bleed and and make it home and I swapped ou the master cylinder and was fine. Bring tool and back off the adjusters a bit. Jack up truck and you can tell if dragging. 1 Quote Link to comment
MicroMachinery
I've seen it happen where the little removable plastic strainer inside the MC can get pushed too far down, so it won't allow the fluid to return. As a result, the wheel cylinders can't immediately retract.. only after a "cooling down" period, the fluid slowly makes it's way back into the reservoir. Pretty odd situation that I chased around on a previous 521 I had. May not be your problem, but I HAVE seen it. 2 Quote Link to comment
flatcat19
Micro, sounds exactly like how owner described. I think it's a new master-i was thinking pushrod. But if only when hot, probably not. 1 Quote Link to comment

banzai510(hainz)
Most new master cylinders the rod has to be cut as its too long(non jap made units) thus pushing the master. I just installed a new master on my 521 last week 2 Quote Link to comment
laotsu
I had this happen when I replaced my MC on Bleu. I had the pushrod adjusted wrong and as I used the brakes pressure would grow in the system. I just pulled on the brake pedal with the tip of my toe and it would relieve pressure. 1 Quote Link to comment
flatcat19
I'm going to be picking it up tonight. We'll see what happens. 1 Quote Link to comment
kelowg
Had this happen with the rears, but i have dual master. something broke loose in the rear hose partly blocking line. 1 Quote Link to comment
ggzilla
Also check the exhaust pipe. Maybe it runs too close to a brake line. 1 Quote Link to comment
Dolomite
Partially frozen slaves? I had that happen on my 510 because I never adjusted them, after sitting they would free up a bit. 1 Quote Link to comment
flatcat19
Well, I have it. It doesn't look like either master has ever been replaced. Will replace both-but hesitant because I want discs. Oh well. 1 Quote Link to comment

ggzilla
So did they lock up on the way home? 1 Quote Link to comment
flatcat19
Just got home. 65 mile drive. Did not lock up. I was running super warm the whole drive. Pop the hood when I got home-hoses are soft and squishy. No pressure. FML. I'll start a thread tomorrow. Too dark. No time for pics. Kevin has the solo pic I took since ownership. 1 Quote Link to comment
