Justin Berni
This morning I got a text, it was a cl link, and it was to the very first Nissan/Datsun I owned, my old 86 720! I immediately texted the dude offering to trade for my hardbody, we met up and he liked it but already had a meeting set up for a mother guy to buy it, so he said he'd get back to me later. 5 hours later he texts me and said the deal didn't go through, so we traded! I'll post pictures of it in the morning, but I'm glad to be back! 2 Quote Link to comment
Rhino13
Awesome! I recently talked to the guy that owns my old diesel 720. Wish I could find the owner of my 4x4... 1 Quote Link to comment

Justin Berni
Oil change today. Also fucked with the timing a little since it was running weird. If I kept it at half throttle or less it ran fine, but if I were to floor it not much would happen, like a total lack of power, so I advanced the timing a little and now it runs great. 1 Quote Link to comment

Justin Berni
Okay I couldn't get a picture cuz I really had to shit before work, and everyone knows that's priority number one.. Soon though, there will be plenty of photos I promise fellas 2 Quote Link to comment
Justin Berni
Here she is.. I can't get the idle where I want it though and idk what's going on. It idles close to 1500, with the idle screw all the way back, so I retarded the timing some to drop the idle a little, but now it feels underpowered again.. Hmm 4 Quote Link to comment
ggzilla
Changing the timing is not the way. Set the timing at 5 degrees. To set the idle, bring the engine to fully warm, then turn the idle speed screw until it runs as 700 rpm. If it won't run that slow then it has an air leak. 4 Quote Link to comment
Justin Berni
I think I've got it all figured out now, but I probably should properly set the timing now and re-do it. Anyone going to the sonic truck meet tonight in Vancouver? I'll be there in the 720 1 Quote Link to comment

Justin Berni
Here's an old picture of the truck from when I first owned it with my old wheels on, the other owner really didn't do anything at all to it. 1 Quote Link to comment

The engine will act like it needs more timing if one or the other side plugs are not firing. To run properly at 3-5 degrees both intake and exhaust plugs must be working. 2 Quote Link to comment

Justin Berni
Picked up a second project just because it was cheap and I want a wagon, almost looks like a Datsun if you squint your eyes and look at it from a mile or two away! 2 Quote Link to comment
MicroMachinery
My downfall was getting more than 1 project at a time.. I'm doomed. Sweet Subi! It's even got the rear window deflector. 1 Quote Link to comment
Rhino13
Nice Subaru, that things clean. I've always dreamt of mating an old Subaru drivetrain to a 520. Make a badass little awd truck! 1 Quote Link to comment

And can someone tell me what these are? They use to have vacuum lines to them, they are ugly as shit can I cut them out? 1 Quote Link to comment
