Shagy
So I picked this conversion kit up from a member. I was told 200sx and its for a wagon. So I've been looking on line to see if I can tell WHO made it and WHICH parts I can use with it, along with an install guide. I'm not having luck finding the same brackets. Most have a step out where the caliper brackets mount. Has anyone see this style before? If so, can you help me with my search?Thank you. Quote Link to comment
thisismatt
I had some of those brackets. They were off a maxima, but I don't remember what year. Here is a thread on the realm where I posted pics of the ones I had http://www.the510realm.com/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=9103 Quote Link to comment
mklotz70
I don't recall which vehicle it's from, but those are factory brackets that have been redrilled. Contact Dave Bothwell on here.....I pulled a set for him years ago.....so he might remember what they're from. Quote Link to comment
Shagy
Thank you. What is Daves handle here? Quote Link to comment

Shagy
I look at this and think i have option #2, but my brackets dont look like this. http://www.datsuns.com/510/brakes/510brackets.htm Quote Link to comment
Laecaon
Because the brackets are OEM Nissan, off of a Maxima... Someone simply re-drilled the brackets. Quote Link to comment
Shagy
So brackets are maxima.....and the parking brake brackets on the caliper will tell me if they are off a maxima or 200sx? Brake pads the same? So i just need the 10.125" rotors? Quote Link to comment
jesusno2
so my question is how are the axle's retained with those on a wagon diff? Quote Link to comment
Shagy
I donno....I'm not finding the info I need...I dont think. Maybe the backing plate has to be cut and retained? I took a few more photos but I have to upload them to a host before I can post them. Quote Link to comment
jesusno2
I made rear disc brakets, those would require the backing plate to be butchered up cause you cant just bolt them straight to the flange cause the wheel bearing sticks out of the flange. other than that they would probably work its not rocket science. Shagy
I hope i can find some time to take a sofe apart and see what it looks like. Onlime info shows different brackets. Quote Link to comment
Big_E-Dog
glad this came up i got the same setup im gonna run in a few days. brackest are off a maxima years 84-88 calipers look similar to a maximas but not really shure Quote Link to comment
Laecaon
Yea, I thinking the center hole is too large and wont retain the axle bearing. Quote Link to comment

Rob_the_Goonster
so is there no tried and true disc brake swap for the wagons stock rear end? or is it better to upgrade the whole rear end with disc already on it?? sorry for interrupting the knowledge war haha Quote Link to comment
tr8er
I vaguely remember a dime quarterly piece on it, but I know they did the front zx swap so I might be confusing the two. Quote Link to comment
Rob_the_Goonster
so i would also have to "assume", which i hate doing, that bigger brakes need a bigger brake booster? or vacuum assisted? I vaguely remember a dime quarterly piece on it, but I know they did the front zx swap so I might be confusing the two. i found the issue of it, it was very well written and it even had pictures!! ha, but still nothin about a bigger booster :/ Quote Link to comment
TENDRIL
people run zx's with stock 3/4 M/C all the time. also a nice alternative is the 13/16 M/C out of a 310? i believe with or without the booster it is between a 3/4 and 7/8 or the 7/8 with or without booster don't recommend any larger without a booster i am running a 15/16 without a booster with 300 zx front calipers and maxima/200sx in the rear onmy 510 goon ...and it stops really well when you hit the brakes hard but there is crap for feel and no soft pedal at any time.... i will be dropping down to a 7/8 or 13/16 when i can and see how i like it Quote Link to comment
Laecaon
78/79 620 also had 13/16th and disc/drum setup. Im currently adapting S13 rear brakes to my wagon axle. About the same size as 280zx but way better aftermarket support. 1 Quote Link to comment

Big_E-Dog
from what ive hurd the s13 and the maxima brakes are pretty much the same. hell i even remember swapping out q45 calipers and rotors on my maxima in the rear lol. but the brackets from the op. no they wont hold the bearings in i cut up the origonal plates then built the brackets off of that. once you do one side the other will be easy lol 1 Quote Link to comment
