xUltra510
So I was installing my new turn signal because the old one had been very wiggly. I got one off of eBay and only paid $10 for it. It arrives much cleaner but the pins were diffrent. I had 4 pins plus one for the horn while the other had 6 plus the horn. I decided I'd move the wiring from the old to new since the new was re done. When I had finished I plugged back all the wires and plugged the battery back in but now the horn goes off and noise starts to come out of the fuse box. Can someone help me out please? I believe I didn't successfully transfer the wiring as it should have been. I don't see and cuts on the wiring. There was a little plastic box that fell while I was installing it but I don't think it was anything important. Help! Quote Link to comment
xUltra510
I have now unplugged the turn signal connector and horn wire and the now fuse box doesn't make any noise, which is good. Quote Link to comment
xUltra510
I believe something is short circuiting a cable? I really want to use a turn signal... Quote Link to comment

xUltra510
What car is this for? Sorry, 1969 Datsun 510. Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
Yes some models had 5 wires and some had 8. Rather than risk burning some wires I would look for the correct switch. Quote Link to comment

I've switched the one with 8 pins with a 5 pin one but it still is making a noise from the fuse box and the horn goes off? Do you know what is causing this? Quote Link to comment
ggzilla
Early 510 had high-beams dimmer switched differently Only use the same kind. Or you'll be blowing fuses. Quote Link to comment
