datzenmike
lol..... that's the air injection manifold and tubes. If it was a fuel rail you would have gas everywhere. Just patch it with some JB weld two part epoxy. This is not critical. There is or used to be a small belt driven air pump just under the distributor. Air is pumped into each exhaust port by those smaller tubes. The air helps burn off any unburned gas to reduce emissions. JB will work fine for this. 1 Quote Link to comment
Draker
It's not a fuel rail.. it's part of the air injection system.. for emissions. Just rip it off and weld up the holes. Quote Link to comment
INDY510
That's not a fuel rail ... it's some exhaust smog rail thing .... you don't need it on a 1970 510, if you don't need to smog it 1 Quote Link to comment

INDY510
Those metal hoses are impossible to get out of the exhaust manifold, cause they're rusted in ... I capped off that tube, where it meets the rubber hose going to the carb, but you would still have to fix those holes.. Is that a late L20b?? .. it looks just like a 78-79 510 motor. Evaded
I have no idea.... I was under the impression it was original to the car. How do I tell? Quote Link to comment
MicroMachinery
Check the engine code stamped on the block just beneath the #4 spark plug. If it matches the engine number on the vin tag, you're in business. Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
The 'smog pump' was used on some '69 510s. That's a 510 carb. Look behind the dip stick handle.... should say L16. Quote Link to comment
