Elkie
My tranny has been leaking from the output seal. I replaced it and its still leaking, has anyone sleeved the yoke? I can't seem to find one anywhere. 1 Quote Link to comment
ggzilla
Sleeving the yoke will only help if the yoke is damaged (grooved). 1 Quote Link to comment

datzenmike
The new seal is usually thinner (front to back) this allows it to be driven further into the tail and ride on unworn spline and seal better. Did you drive it all the way in? Is your spline rusty, scratched or damaged? Did you oil or put grease on the seal lips so it doesn't start up dry? Is the rubber isolator around your center bearing rotted away? If yes then the driveshaft will be unsupported and become unstable. Is the closest U joint worn out? Vibration can't be good for the seal. 1 Quote Link to comment
Elkie
I am going to replace the u joints today, carrier bearing looks in good shape. I did grease the new seal. I will try a new one when I pull the drive shaft for u joints, and check the yoke for any damage. Quote Link to comment
Elkie
I can feel a bit of a ridge, but hard to tell. 1 Quote Link to comment
ggzilla
If you can feel it then it exists. Quote Link to comment
Elkie
Replaced all the ujoints, the back two were replaced before at some point, the front one looked like it may have been the original. I'd say it got rid of a vibration I didn't know was there, and the seal is holding up. 1 Quote Link to comment
