i have run into a really annoying issue.

so. in the midst of installing my new motor my kind friend unhooked all the ignition wires from the ballast and coil and didn't mark anything.

 

so now ive put on an msd box and other stuff, and managed to find the switched ignition wire, but now I cant get any wire to make the damn tach to work.

 

this is on my 77 200sx.

 

if anyone has any ideas, fire away. the wiring diagram I have shows different color wires than the ones I have coming out of the plugs :s

there may be a possibility that the tach output on my msd box is not working, but I need to borrow another tach to confirm this. ill post results.

Take that "kind friend" to Point Barrow AK and leave him/her there?  Preferably in November!

This has been resolved with an msd tach adapter, 200sx tachs dont like the square wave pattern from msd boxes.

Points and EI would be square wave too. (more or less) Maybe it's that multi-spark feature? it doesn't like.
