510 2door Window Regulator

Recommended Posts

I'm trying to replace the "roller" in my driver window regulator.

The problem I've run into is: with the window rolled down, the regulator and window track are aligned properly. But with the window rolled up, the roller is about .25" off vertically, making the window sit a little forward.

Does anyone know a fix for this problem or should I just look for a new regulator?

Thanks!

The state of the window mechanism when I got to it was: the roller wheel had broke in half and was out of the track. The track had been bent back and duct-taped, I'm assuming to stop the vibration that occurred when I took the tape back off. The window was functioning fine with this "set up". I drilled out the roller and replaced it with a part that functioned seemingly perfectly once installed.

However, when the window is rolled up;

it leans forward causing a gap between it and the door:

I then removed the roller I installed and realized that once the mechanism was in the up position the roller and track were no longer aligned and the roller was pushing the window up and forward a bit.
