Tlalocc_
Hey guys, so im a newbie here and wanted some direction towards buying some headers for sunny, my 1.2 B210 from 1981. What happened was that my exhaust got caught in a bump and it yanked on my headers so they kind of cracked at the base of it, right where it connects to the engine. So what i did was that i took it to the shop to get them welded as a temporary fix. Im looking preferably for an upgrade swap in headers or performance ones. I can't seem to find any on the net. So if any of you guys could lead me in the right direction or a link would be awesome! thank you in advance. :) Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
Unless you have a large cam, a high flow ported head with larger valves and multiple carbs, a header isn't going to do you much good. They are also very expensive. A stock exhaust manifold ($20) would still be on there and running. Try to find one. The only advantage a header has over a cast iron manifold is they are lighter. ggzilla
Yes, the A12A has a free-flowing cast iron manifold. It is quieter, makes the same power as most headers and requires no maintenance/lasts longer/is more reliable. If you like the sound of headers, by all means get a header. Suppliers are listed at http://datsun1200.com/modules/mediawiki/index.php?title=Headers#Suppliers 1 Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
...or a lower restriction exhaust muffler. Quote Link to comment
az_rat210
The stock manifold through a modern catalytic converter rather than the old charcoal type and a 2" exhaust will do it. I had a 78 B210 auto and just gutting the converter made a huge difference by freeing up restriction. Quote Link to comment
