DatsunHiLife
Whats up Ratsuns.. So...I just replaced my windshield wiper motor and hooked every thing up. The passenger side is frozen. Sprayed some lube on it and let it sit.. Next day.. Still frozen. Are there replacements for this or am I screwed. Any options for me. Here is the culprit. Everything else is fine. DatsunHiLife
Has anyone upgraded their linkage with any aftermarket ones from Nissan. Been searching online. Checked Classifieds. Nothing so far. Quote Link to comment
ggzilla
No need to upgrade them, as most Nissan units are not froze up even after 40 years. Find a good original used pivot to replace your frozen pivot. 1 Quote Link to comment
DatsunHiLife
I'll take mine apart and see if I can salvage. I've searched all over for any used pivots and no luck at all. Thanks I am on the island of Kauai, Hawaii. parts are hard to find. Quote Link to comment
ggzilla
Any wrecking yard with a 620 will probably have one (it is an uncommon part to wear out). You can buy and they mail it to you. http://car-part.com is the national hotline. Quote Link to comment
DatsunHiLife
Well I took the day off as I worked the past 2 weeks. Took out the linkage to inspect the frozen pivot. Didn't think I could save it but with my blow torch I put some heat on it then greased it up really good. Managed to get it to move a little bit.... 3 hours later I got it completely loose and back to working condition.I suggest anyone who ever finds themselves in this situation to try what I did first before buying. I found Datsun PL620 Truck Parts that has a set of pivots for 250.00. Way past my budget as I'm saving to fix up the body. Quote Link to comment
