DanielC
This is the back of a 521 instrument cluster, with a diagram of what each pin is for. Connect battery negative to the ground pin. Connect battery 12 volt positive to the pin marked "dash lights" The dash lights should come on. To remove the instrument cluster, remove the two screws at the bottom of the black plastic cover. The cover will then slide straight up, and two clips will disengage the top of the cover. You can then get to the two top screws, and the nuts on them, and remove the instrument cluster, after unplugging the multipin connector, and the speedometer cable. Take the multipin connector carefully. It is easy to break the pins off the printed circuit board. 1 Quote Link to comment
Dolomite
Lookfor burned circuit paths. I accidentally grounded mine when removing the gauges, forgot to disconnect battery. If there is burned pathways, you can use small gauge jumper wires. Jump from the positive pin to positive tab on a dash light, its kinda ghetto but its been working for months on my 510. Edit: I just realized the pic above has a jumper wire in it. 2 Quote Link to comment

wayno
Are you saying that the dash lights worked before, but after changing your speedo cable out they do not work anymore. Do your park lights work now, or are they not working also? 2 Quote Link to comment
