65 Nissan Patrol

Recommended Posts

The first Patrol in this thread is mine again. I will also be bringing the other yellow one home. There are only 2 other Patrols left if anybody is wanting a Patrol. The silver one with a rod knock and a running parts rig could be had for 3500.

Right on, congrats! That yellow one is a good starter project. Did all the rest get sold off?

And in the other thread there is mention of a "Roy Rodgers" addition. What is that exactly? Never heard of that, been into these trucks for over 20yrs.

Cheers

There are only 3 left and 1 is mine. I'm also getting the other yellow Patrol with the stripes. The silver with black hood 66 and a 68 running parts Patrol are still available. I don't have an external photo page so no pics from me. Go look at http://www.60patrol.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=20&t=3459 if you want to see pics, gotta be a member!

Both those yellow ones are solid projects. Good to hear the rest went to people, hopefully not the crusher. I am in no need of more projects. A lot of Patrols were sold in the NW. I found my first one back in Oregon, where I am from, in 1990. Been hooked ever since! I got a vintage brochure somewhere that lists all the Datsun dealers in the USA in the 1960's. The vast majority were on the west coast, in particular California, Washington and Oregon. Colorado, Idaho, Utah and Arizona were also states with a lot of dealers with Nevada and New Mexico not far behind. Texas and Oklahoma saw a lot of Patrols too if there is such a thing as lot's of Patrols in the USA. Canada had dealers in most big cities. There was even a dealer in Anchorage that sold some pretty unique Datsuns. At least two dealers here in Wyoming where I live and I have found 3 Patrols not far from the original dealer locations. Found another old Datsun too, a 1960's wagon. One of these Patrols plowed the Pinedale, Wyoming airport for some 40 years. Another hoard like these BC Patrols is in Utah. That guy been selling them off for awhile too. I almost bought his best truck, a 69. But was not motivated enough and like I say have enough projects. Been acquiring parts from my 68 Cali black plate Patrol for going on a year. Getting a big stash for it together while I work on my 77 Ute.

This Patrol thing for me started back in high school. I had 2 friends driving Patrols my senior year of high school class of 1987. Damn we had some good times!!! You are spot on about Patrol sales by region. I was on the Patrol club of Albuquerque, then America back in the late 90s. Sad that's all lost! I have looked at and owned many Patrols thru the years, and there are more out there. My second time around Patrol should be running and driving later today 3/14/15, and maybe spotted in the sightings thread?
