TENDRIL
how much weight do you think the drip rails could handle? for instance having the aftermarket cross bars that mount to the drip rails, now, imagining that the cross bar/racks can handle X-amount of weight... would the drip rails be able to handle lets say 400lbs spread evenly? Draker
100lbs per mount point.. hmm.. seems a bit much. Quote Link to comment
TENDRIL
well that is a high number really just trying to get an idea Quote Link to comment
Draker
I would say 50lbs per mount would be a safer bet.. but I couldn't tell you for sure. Quote Link to comment
Draker
Also the load will momentarily get heavier as the car travels through dips in the road. Quote Link to comment
tr8er
Also the load will momentarily get heavier as the car travels through dips in the road. This is what I would think about. If you've dropped the suspension, or in any other way stiffened the ride, the numbers fall quickly. That said, 100 per mount would be fine stock. Likely fine even with a bit stiffer shocks. Those rails are strong. Quote Link to comment
Fat510
thules website says 165 for the crossbars, i dont know if your the 8" uprights increase or lower the weight capacity http://www.thule.com/en-us/us/products/carriers-and-racks/roof-racks/racks-load-bars/thule-squarebar-50-_-3565 Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
I'd be cautious, I used them on my B-210 and it bent them. Use more cross bars to spread the weight. Quote Link to comment

qwik510
Love the tepui. As soon as I saw the pic I searched Google. Very sweet design. A bit pricey for a tent but very cool. Quote Link to comment
TENDRIL
well the tent all together weighs, 98 or 89 lbs and i am 170 and once extended the ladder relieves most weight, and i sleep generally with my head towards the ladder, im thinking it should be ok might kill my mpg a bit but with a KA it shoulld still be better than my dual weber l20 Quote Link to comment
TENDRIL
ive slept in my wagon the last three canby's and being 6'2" its doable but tight and since i have it i might as well use it Quote Link to comment
