LilBullit
Hey 1200's Im painting my sedan and looking for some advice on where to find paint. Where do I find original paint or exact match? My sedan is the medium green 003 and I want the exact color, not a close hunter green knock off. Does Nissan have a recommended paint manufacturer? ggzilla
Any auto paint company can mix the paint color formula. It is acrylic enamel, will be shiny without buffing. Just wax it once a year. Or you can use modern 2-pack with clear coat. Datsun 003 was called "Dark Green" by Nissan Motor Co. In U.S.A. Quote Link to comment
datsunfreak
It is acrylic enamel, will be shiny without buffing. But can you still buy that in California? ^_^ Quote Link to comment
ggzilla
Sure can. There are special C.A.R.B. districts in California which restrict sale of lacquers, paints, primers, nail polish, etc with certain types of V.O.C. volatile compounds. Quote Link to comment
datsunrides
Yup. Need to find "national rule" counties to get the good old fashioned solvent based paints. I get most of my supplies from Davis Auto parts in Watsonville. They still have the chip charts for our old cars. Quote Link to comment
