OK young guy,One end of the ballast resister, BLACK/WHITE, other end of the resister either black/blue or black/green, POSITIVE side of the coil(+), either black/green or black/blue.  The black one is Coil negative (-)

FYI, the black/blue or black/green for form a "Y" in the loom and are charged w/+12V to start the car.

what?????????????????

why you pull this apart?

you need the ballast with the point coil!!!!!!!!!!

since all wires off . battery hooked up in car. and ignition fuse installed.

1) turn key to ON. tell us what wire has power. should be a blk /wht stripe wire. this will go to the the ballast resisiter

2) disconnect the starter seliniod wire. Now have a Moron friend of yours turn the key to START. what ever wire that has 12volt will go to the +side coil. In later 510 this was the blk/blu wire and the blk green.Dont know 68 color codes but this is EZ. what ever wire that has 12volts in start should be 2(wires) as its Y spliced under the tape. find the other wire and put this to the otherside of the ballast. to make this simple. 1 goes to + side coil 2 goes to otherside ballast.

3)the wire from the points will go to the - side coil(what ever color is is or what if you cahnge it. if a 68 it should just be one wire as its a single point distributor which just buy a Pertronix and put it on and call it good with what you got.
