Look what I dragged home today - is it 1974 or 1975 or both?

So I was scanning the local CL ads and a 1974 260Z showed up. The ad said it was for parts. It was a pretty nice day today for mid February and It was not too far from me so I went to check it out. The guy said it was his dad's and he had owned it since the late 70's. His dad had a stroke recently and was now in a nursing home and they needed to sell it so they could get the garage empty in order to sell the house.

It was in a one car garage and the tags expired 11 years ago. It's rusty but there's lots of good stuff on it. Definitely has that 70's style with the Western Turbine wheels and the side view mirrors and rear louver. It's the original paint and 102k miles. It got whacked in the drivers door. It's a 4 speed with A/C. Has 240Z SU carbs. Came with a bunch of new parts too. Brand new drivers fender, new Tasco rockers, new Exedy clutch kit, new starter, new battery cables, etc. it rolled free other then a bad tire on the passenger front. While I was there looking at it, a neighbor who was friends with the dad came over and said he and the dad had the car running a couple summers ago and it ran good and was Fast.

And so you ask, why the 74 or 75 or both in the title?

Well this was sitting in the garage next to it.

It's a 1975 Kawasaki KE100 with 1,693 miles. It also has not run in many years but other then a couple dents in the tank, it's pretty straight. Under the dust, the paint looks good.

I made a deal for both of them and got them loaded up and dragged them home.

I am way more stoked about the bike then the Z car.

I'll be putting up a classified ad for Z parts at some point.

Come on spring time.
