Seansm10 Posted February 8, 2015 Report Share Posted February 8, 2015 Alright so I'm in the middle of a 240 ka swap into my 610 wagon and I'm fiddling with my swaybar currently. I have a 240sx 26mm swaybar laying around so I figured id try it. Swapped the end links to the inside and it drops in mighty perfect. Now my next battle was using existing bolt holes with the stock bushing so I made this: So now it accepts all stock holes and it all is daisys and rainbows after a little dye grinding. Or so I thought. I don't have pictures of this next part but here's what happened Everything lines up great so I go to test fit the swaybar itself into the whole caboodle and it doesn't clear now. It hits the very front of the oilpan, basically my rigged up mounts need to go up a few mm, and back away from the cross brace things, a few mm. What do I do to remedy my issue? Cutting and welding is no issue but I don't have experience with suspension and I don't wanna screw my geometry just so the bar mounts up. I've spoke with Dave and he has a 25mm drop in bar but I am trying to save money in spots so I can use it elsewhere accordingly. Can I weld a plate as a spacer to fill the existing gap and have the swaybar clear? Gonnd try and tackle this tomorrow but I am really stumped Quote Link to comment
datzenmike Posted February 8, 2015 Report Share Posted February 8, 2015 What's that piece welded on for if you are using the stock bolt location? Swapped end links to the inside? What does this mean? Their location where they mount to the lower control arm? (LCA) You say it needs to be back away from the crossmember? Do you mean it should be moved forward, to clear the pan? Quote Link to comment
Seansm10 Posted February 8, 2015 Author Report Share Posted February 8, 2015 Basically I took the stock mounting flange from the oem bar and welded it to the stock bushing piece of the 240 bar the end like is held on by a nut and bolt, basically I just put the end link on the inside of the swaybar so it falls into the stock mounting hole. I think that makes more sense. Essentially what is happening is for the holes to line up t has to go up and back a little but swaybar won't allow it. So can I weld a spacer onto the frame rail so it just bolts in where it is? I will try to take a couple pictures tomorrow Quote Link to comment

Seansm10 Posted February 8, 2015 Author Report Share Posted February 8, 2015 You are correct. The bar needs to move forward to clear the oilpan when I try and use the stock 3 bolt holes. But then the holes are out of line. But now if the sway bar goes forward, the bushing casing hits that diagonal brace that shares the bolt hole. Does this bar plain and simple not fit then?
