Lockleaf
That's a really open ended question. Do you have a king cab? Do you have a long bed? What wheelbase is the s10 frame? Can you weld sheet metal? Can you weld the frame? What tools do you have available? Are you comfortable with how much wider the stance will be, since s10 axles are wider than 620s? Yeah, it can be done, if you have the tools time and desire to do it. 1 Quote Link to comment
dr.feltersnatch
And money. Lots of money. 1 Quote Link to comment
orangie
If you are a competent welder and you are determined, I'm sure it can work. I would look at the two bare frames and get some measurements of basic widths and lengths. Take note of the vertical ups and downs. Look at not just the frame width, but the track width as well. The steering will also have to mate up and you'll have to understand the layout of the engine bay possibly with the engine in there. A lot of trial end error with stuff like that. 1 Quote Link to comment
Giantsfan98
Yeh I have the tools and the time and I got a certified welder to do the welding there is a 5 inch difference in the width though that's the only part I'm worried about 1 Quote Link to comment
]2eDeYe
Why? I would swap the drivetrain into the 620 frame before swapping in a different frame. 2 Quote Link to comment
Giantsfan98
I gotta pick this s10 up in a week or two and il get it stripped down and then I will see what's going on with it I think it would be easier to just use the whole frame if I can rather than swapping everything to this frame plus this frame is rotted out so I think I am gonna do this if it is possible 1 Quote Link to comment
]2eDeYe
Then I wish you luck, don't forget to take lots of pics :) 1 Quote Link to comment

bonvo
is it possible yes but the real question is why? why not go with a 720 or possibly a hard body? right width all nissan identical or similar wheel base and mounts just seems like a much much easier time 2 Quote Link to comment
orangie
5 inches of track width is quite a difference, which may not be a big deal if you don't mind the tires sticking out. Narrowing a differential adds to the cost. The only benefit I can see doing the swap over a 720 frame is the 5 lug bolt pattern and parts availability. 1 Quote Link to comment
Giantsfan98
And I got the whole frame transfer case and trans for 100$ and yeh I can live with it with the tires I'm putting on it it won't look that bad 1 Quote Link to comment
]2eDeYe
So 4x4? 1 Quote Link to comment
Charlie69
$100 for chassis $3000 to make it work. Mind you I said work not fit! Quote Link to comment
orangie
Something else to consider, which engine? 4.3 v6?. You're going to have to measure where the front wheel is relative to front of the engine is to see how much room you have for the radiator. V6's are pretty short front to back so it may not be an issue. You're also going have to check the back of the engine to clear the firewall or be prepared to recess the firewall. 1 Quote Link to comment
