Several things happen about 10 minutes after starting the engine. As the engine warms to operating temp the choke turns off. The choke forces a rich mixture condition to help the running in cold weather and my mask a normally lean condition. When the choke shuts off, the engine runs lean and stalls.

Possible causes..

Idle cut solenoid non operational. The idle cut shuts off fuel to the idle circuit when the key is off to help stop the engine and prevent dieseling. When on, it allows gas to the idle circuit for proper idling. The idle cut solenoid should make a soft clicking sound when the key is turned on off on off on off. It's located on the back of the carb and has a Red wire to it. This wire should have power only when the key is ON.

Another is the valve lash changes with the expansion of hot metal. Check your valve lash and adjust them.

If it ran alright rich, with the choke on, it should run with it off. If the idle cut isn't working it's easier to fix this than replacing the carb.
