hoodradKyle
Friend of a friend knew I had a couple datsuns, and asked if I wanted a "tuff truck" datsun he had sitting in his barn. He said it had ran and competed at the local track 3 years ago and all it would need would probably be a battery and fuel pump, but it didn't have a title or any glass. It has full cage, the battery and gas tank have been relocated to the bed and the diff is welded.Only downside is it's really beat up and a lot of cutting was done to it. From what I can tell most of it is a 1980 720 with a L20 and 4 speed. However the bed appears to be a shortened 620 bed, there are obvious cut/weld marks on the bed and it has the earlier style bed hooks. But it was cheap enough so I took it off his hands only the drivers side door opens and the top of it is cut off for some reason seeing as how the engine ID tag is pop riveted to an old license plate I don't know if it belongs with the truck or not, but I assume it's correct. basically sums up the truck as a whole. I have no real plans for it so if you see any parts you want feel free to message me. It's currently winter in Pennsylvania so I'm not sure when I'll get around to working on seeing if it will run. 4 Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
Has '80 hood and only the '80 had the L20B engine, door and engine tag also agree. Yes 620 bed. I see dual front shocks but wonder at the wisdom of no inner front fenders. It will have a 4.11 rear end and a wide ratio gearing transmission.. 2 Quote Link to comment
Rhapakatui
Needs some spare tires mounted on the rear cage, an led light bar up front, a turbo, lexane windows, and some meaty tires. Flare it and you've got a Baja 1000 truck. Looks like something I wanted to build in high school. 1 Quote Link to comment
Rhapakatui
And bumpers. It needs big iron bumpers. 1 Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
Too heavy, use 8" logs. 2 Quote Link to comment
Rhapakatui
Nah, 3.5" schedule 10 pipe only weighs 4.5 lbs/ft. 5' front and back puts you at 45 lbs. Cap that off good and add an air fitting in each one, fill to 30 psi and you've got a light weight set of bumpers that can take a serious beating without a dent. 1 Quote Link to comment
Charlie69
Mike is correct the hood is a 1 tear only 1980. If you were closer I would get the transmission and the hood. 2 Quote Link to comment

petercscherer
Geez, what kind of camera are you using for those pics? They make it almost look like a model car, especially the pics of the interior and bed. Super sweet! ~Peter 1 Quote Link to comment

tr8er
This thing is a toy truck. Looks like its been on the playground of a preschool for several years. And had a great time of it. I love it. I'd go all out Baja on it too. Wench, lights, two batteries, surf rack, maybe a paint accent fitting the hotwheels idea. Great score if it runs. 1 Quote Link to comment

hoodradKyle
My parents are tired of this taking up driveway space and there's no more space at the shop, so its for sale. Willing to part it out, but would love to get rid of the truck in its entirety Quote Link to comment
Gradyfest
Plenty on that truck worth saving. If you were closer and I had storage, I'd take that engine off your hands just to have a spare and "toy" to take apart and build. I'm sure no good parts will go to waste. I love the tag riveted to the chopped up painted license plate! Quote Link to comment
