datzenmike Posted January 22, 2015 Report Share Posted January 22, 2015 Take the #1 plug out. Stick finger over hole and have someone crank the engine. When air pushes out, stop. Remove the distributor cap. Rotor should be pointing close to the #1 plug wire above it. Arrange the other wires as shown above. 1 Quote Link to comment

Assuming the distributor is in the stock position, number one tower on the distributor is closest to the radiator. Counterclockwise from there, the towers are1, 3, 4, 2. This puts number 2 tower closest to the the engine, and number 2 is near the middle of the engine. Number 2 is the shortest wire. Number three is the next shortest wire. So, number one, or number four will be the longest. Quote Link to comment
