I've been trying to work with a couple 720 guys to develop some mounts but no luck as of yet. Haven't heard of the oil pan needing modification. The drive shaft will need modified (shortened) if you use the KA transmission. Quote Link to comment

petercscherer Posted January 21, 2015 Report Share Posted January 21, 2015 The only modifications needed to the oil pan is if you get the KA24 from a car. The car models have a front-sump pan that will interfere with 720's crossmember, but the truck KA24 has the correct rear-sump. From my research, truck motors are a bit harder to find, but the truck pan/pickup-tube can be adapted to any car KA. There are some very experienced members here who have done this swap before and they may chime in with more information and advice. ~Peter Quote Link to comment

I think its the other way around because the car KA has a crank girdle that will interfere with the D21's shallow pan, in other words a (deeper) car pan can be used on a truck motor.... personally I held out until I found a rear sump D21 KA. 1 Quote Link to comment
