Tech-guy
If I put a 280ZX 5 speed on a L20b, which clutch parts (pressure plate, disk, bearing, slave cylinder, and master cylinder) should I use? Quote Link to comment
MicroMachinery
Be sure to use the throwout bearing collar that goes with that clutch/pressure plate. Quote Link to comment
john510
I thought you needed the collar that went with the clutch, transmission doesnt matter.I would think you need a clutch for the L20b. 1 Quote Link to comment
Doctor510
Hall Monitor is spot on. What ever was in your current tranny goes into the Z tranny. The TO Brg collar etc is clutch PP height dictated not tranny dictated. 1 Quote Link to comment

Yes, my mistake. This is correct. Edited my comment to correct misinformation. Quote Link to comment

Just remember that the transmission has absolutely nothing what ever to do with the clutch. The clutch has nothing to do with the transmission. You can run whatever transmission will fit your engine. The pressure plate, clutch disc and release bearing and collar are separate and a matched set. Keep them together.... well, always get and put a new bearing on the collar. Quote Link to comment
