Sometime just befor the 710 ended there was a modification to the rear window, roof line and interior behind the back seat and it was called a 711. I'll check when I get home but I never concidered it rare. And as far as a 'notch back' what ever that means my '74 4 door looks just the same.

The picture is a North American grill, Asia got a different one.

The 710 and 711 used L series engines. L18 probably. We here, got L18 for '74 and L20B from '75 through '77.

All 710s used a combined strut and spring, McPherson type front suspension, yes.

The L18SSS was a dual carb and possibly a 5 speed car, otherwise a basic 710 running gear. Post some pictures of your car. We'd like to know more about the 710SSS as we did not get them. Welcome to Ratsun

Thanks for the fast reply ,the reason why i dont wanna post picture at here because my beautiful datsun 120Y had been stolen before! Thus i post my other datsun 120y  (at facebook, quite long time ago)the power supply almost got stolen! This kind of cars without proper security easy got stolen one in my country. Sorry about that i still think that its not a right times to post picture here, not because here is not safe But try to keep the sound low. i can post some link here, exactly the same cars:

Only a minor rust, not a big issue,L16 Engine abit dirty, but its works fine.Mine father teacher, quite older....he decided to let it go and sell to us.   ;)

Lost track of this post.

Around Jan. '76 and on the 710, the rear glass, rear roof line, rear door, trunk lid and side panel or D pillar were altered (on the 4 door only) to improve rear seating or driver visibility.  These were sometimes called the '711'

Hello, a bit old this topic,  but thought I could add a link here if that were to any help :)

I found a page I think is very helpful, it's just alot of original manuals that you can download for free

Link : http://datsun510.com...uals/index.html

If you look a bit down, there are manuals over the engine L16 and others if you need that and there is a manual for the datsun 710 1977 model, when they changed the rear end :)

I have just taken a quick look into it, so haven't read it properly yet, but will do soon :)

Hope this was to some help ! :D
