a.d._510_n_ok
a few months ago I got tired of looking at bare dash metal and did this: http://community.ratsun.net/topic/64071-roadkill-cement-mixer-truck-hood-brace-my-new-dash/ basically, of my employer's mixer trucks had a fiberglass hood fall apart from our wonderful Oklahoma roads beating it to death. I scrounged the fiberglass brace out of it and have slowly been chopping it into nothingness. I've thrown most of it away except for this one, long, thin piece with some neat edges that I thought might have potential as an air dam. I've mocked it up and kinda like it - other than the fact that it doesn't run from one outside tire edge to the othe other. Still, if ever REALLY wanted to I could add on some edges. I kinda like it as-is though! 1 Quote Link to comment
a.d._510_n_ok
kinda proud that my hoarding paid off for once! I have had a pair a black "L" shaped brackets for a few years now and always figured I'd use them for something fog light related buuuuuuuut instead they will be the main supports for my air dam and I will not have to drill any holes in my cars body! I was able to take out a bolt on either side of my front tow points, place the bracket openings over those holes, re-install the factory bolts and cinch everything back down! the bracket faces are smooth and flat and mimic the angle of the factory valance panel's lower edge nicely! The dam will bolt to the brackets and tuck up under the valance BTW. The just rattle-can primered air dam drying the sun in preparation for it's coat of metallic blue (also rattle-can) paint. 1 Quote Link to comment

a.d._510_n_ok
I bobbed off the lower edge (that I thought I liked so much) and like it better. it probably doesn't do much but cover rusty front end parts. Quote Link to comment
