Stoffregen Motorsports
We used that tape for certain repairs on the race cars. We called it helicopter tape because they use it on the leading edge of helicopter rotors to prevent abrasion damage. I got into a wreck once at Sears Point and broke my windshield. We used it to hold the windshield together, fearing the whole time I would get black flagged. It help up fine. 1 Quote Link to comment
XXL
A friend of mine worked Boeing AOG and has repaired 737's at every imaginable podunk airport on every continent. There is a fancy duct tape they call "600 mph" tape. He did a wing repair using this tape that was supposed to last until the plane was flown to a repair facility. He saw the plane in operation (Africa) a month later with the tape still on it. Here's a pic of it from Wikipedia... ... and thank you for flying with us today *ba-dump* Quote Link to comment
Stoffregen Motorsports
It's only one of the wings. There is one more in case that one fails. Quote Link to comment
