Had front tire develop large bubble so I will get my STs all cleaned up and painted for a new set of Hankook Optimo H724 205 /75 R14.  I also picked up a complete AC and heat system from an 86 720.  My condeser is bad in my 86.

Thank you nissan.

Hey Mark, good to see you are alive!  LOL  No Mark pink is Genes color.  I am thinking on orange to off set the red truck.  I will be doing the complete front suspension and steering componets replacements in the next couple weeks, so I can install the new tires and the ST wheels and take it in for an alignment.

Next project for this truck is a VG automatic swap probably next summer,

I am hoping to get my left knee replaced before Christmas.

Why do you need new ones, they come out of the 720s fairly easy, but not so easy on the 320/520/521(been there longer).

Just take the nut off and remove the washer, then put the nut back on till it is just to the end of the threads, then tap on the end of the nut/bolt till it moves that eighth inch and it bottoms out and then back the nut off a little and tap some more, once you have a crater in the middle of the nut I use a punch in the middle of the nut/on the end of the bolt to keep the end of the bolt from flaring I keep the nut on the threads till I have no other choice but to remove it, buy that time I don't have to hit it very hard anymore to knock it all the way out.

My experience has been exactly opposite off yours wayno. Ive removed them on three different trucks and had to cut them off both sides and pry off the control 5 out of 6 of the bolts. Rusted solid inside the bushing sleeve. So i don't even go to the junkyard for them. I buy them from Nissan.

I have actually never had to cut one out, but I have ruined a 320 one getting it out, even with the nut on the end of the bolt the end of the bolt still flared inside the nut.

I did consider cutting it but could not get in there to cut it, but I finally got it out, I was using a sledge and a long piece of re-bar and a thick metal plate trying to get that one out, that didn't work, what did work was a very large pipe wrench on thew star end of the bolt, I literally turned it back and forth with the pipe wrench, then I tapped on it till it quit moving, then I turned it some more, tapped on it till I got it out, it was ruined anyway so I didn't care if the star end was ruined also.

Actually I don't remember how I turned the star end, I might of used the arm that goes over the star end and used the pipe wrench on that, but I turned that bolt inside the bushing to get it out, it actually kinda came out on it's own while turning it, but there was some tapping on the other end involved also.

My 86 spent it's life in Salt Lake City Utah where the roads are heavily salted all winter long . Plus the salt air from the Great Salt Lake.

My 1980 chassis under my 520 was In the Bagdad AZ Copper Mine for 20 plus years of its life. Years ago the mine dumped a home made slurry concauction on the roads for dust control. This concauction was banned by the EPA in later years. It caused major corrossion on all of the metal mining equipment.

Well it has been 1 month since I had my left knee replaced.  So it is time to get the truck hosed off and the battery charger on it.  I will charge it tonight and hose it off tomorow after removing the battery charger.

I will try driving it tomorrow and if all goes well then i need to finish the front end rebuild and get it aligned.

Most likely will have my brother and Shawn do most of the work as I am still having a hard time getting up off the ground with the limited movement I have in my knew knee.  That is what brothers and good friends are for, abuse!!!  LOL

Not driving yet.  I see my surgeon on February 1 and hope to get cleared of PT and allowed to drive.

Mark, thank you the advise on visor install.  I am probably going to puchase a stud gun (threaded stud welder) to install the visors.  I do not want to drill holes in my roofs.

When are you coming to Phoenix?  LOL
