Cheetosrdabest
That is my 86 Dailey Driver in the back ground of the picture above. I like the extended cab ! My '84 has the tiny cab and absolutely no room, but I had a '92 SEV6 4x4 with the extended cab and it had little side ways jump seats in the back that were really cool. Did the '86 come with these too? 1 Quote Link to comment
Lockleaf
Yeah the 720 king cab had jump seats in it as well. 2 Quote Link to comment
Cheetosrdabest
I work for Cummins Engine so I'm currently on the hunt for an R2.8 4 cyl turbo diesel to put I my little truck....only 161 hp, but it would be soooo cool IMO !!! Trying to find a blown fit up engine at a good price to see if it would even work right now. 1 Quote Link to comment
Lockleaf
Very cool man. I spent a good while looking in to the Mercedes om617 3 liter turbo diesel as a swap into my 720. Loads of research but never did anything with it. 2 Quote Link to comment
wayno
This is my 521 kingcab with an SD25 turbodiesel engine. And this is my 720 with an SD25 turbodiesel engine. They are not 161hp, but I am positive both are over a 100hp and they cruise down the freeway great. 5 Quote Link to comment

Charlie69
Thank you nissan. Hey Mark, good to see you are alive! LOL No Mark pink is Genes color. I am thinking on orange to off set the red truck. I will be doing the complete front suspension and steering componets replacements in the next couple weeks, so I can install the new tires and the ST wheels and take it in for an alignment. Next project for this truck is a VG automatic swap probably next summer, I am hoping to get my left knee replaced before Christmas. 2 Quote Link to comment

Charlie69
Inside house paint is done so now I can focus on my steering and suspension. I will head to a junk yard to get a couple of incase I need them parts. 2 Quote Link to comment
Charlie69
Heading to the junk yard to get a couple of these if possible to have on hand when I do my lower control arm bushings. These bolts are common to the little trucks from 1978 to 2004 4 cylinder only. 1 Quote Link to comment
wayno
Why do you need new ones, they come out of the 720s fairly easy, but not so easy on the 320/520/521(been there longer). Just take the nut off and remove the washer, then put the nut back on till it is just to the end of the threads, then tap on the end of the nut/bolt till it moves that eighth inch and it bottoms out and then back the nut off a little and tap some more, once you have a crater in the middle of the nut I use a punch in the middle of the nut/on the end of the bolt to keep the end of the bolt from flaring I keep the nut on the threads till I have no other choice but to remove it, buy that time I don't have to hit it very hard anymore to knock it all the way out. 3 Quote Link to comment
Lockleaf
My experience has been exactly opposite off yours wayno. Ive removed them on three different trucks and had to cut them off both sides and pry off the control 5 out of 6 of the bolts. Rusted solid inside the bushing sleeve. So i don't even go to the junkyard for them. I buy them from Nissan. 1 Quote Link to comment
wayno
I have actually never had to cut one out, but I have ruined a 320 one getting it out, even with the nut on the end of the bolt the end of the bolt still flared inside the nut. I did consider cutting it but could not get in there to cut it, but I finally got it out, I was using a sledge and a long piece of re-bar and a thick metal plate trying to get that one out, that didn't work, what did work was a very large pipe wrench on thew star end of the bolt, I literally turned it back and forth with the pipe wrench, then I tapped on it till it quit moving, then I turned it some more, tapped on it till I got it out, it was ruined anyway so I didn't care if the star end was ruined also. Actually I don't remember how I turned the star end, I might of used the arm that goes over the star end and used the pipe wrench on that, but I turned that bolt inside the bushing to get it out, it actually kinda came out on it's own while turning it, but there was some tapping on the other end involved also. 2 Quote Link to comment
Charlie69
My 86 spent it's life in Salt Lake City Utah where the roads are heavily salted all winter long . Plus the salt air from the Great Salt Lake.My 1980 chassis under my 520 was In the Bagdad AZ Copper Mine for 20 plus years of its life. Years ago the mine dumped a home made slurry concauction on the roads for dust control. This concauction was banned by the EPA in later years. It caused major corrossion on all of the metal mining equipment. 2 Quote Link to comment
Charlie69
Well it has been 1 month since I had my left knee replaced. So it is time to get the truck hosed off and the battery charger on it. I will charge it tonight and hose it off tomorow after removing the battery charger. I will try driving it tomorrow and if all goes well then i need to finish the front end rebuild and get it aligned. Most likely will have my brother and Shawn do most of the work as I am still having a hard time getting up off the ground with the limited movement I have in my knew knee. That is what brothers and good friends are for, abuse!!! LOL 4 Quote Link to comment
Pacific coast Datsun
Hi Charlie I'm glad your feeling a bit better. What's the plan for this 720 ? 1 Quote Link to comment
Charlie69
Drive the shit out of it! LOL I purchased a windshield visor from Wayno that I want to install on it. It is the red one. The white one is 520 521. 2 Quote Link to comment
]2eDeYe
Are you driving it yet? :) 1 Quote Link to comment
Pacific coast Datsun
Allrighty then lol. I like the visors. Word of advice, after you center the visor install the faseners from the center going out towards the ends. 2 Quote Link to comment
Charlie69
Not driving yet. I see my surgeon on February 1 and hope to get cleared of PT and allowed to drive. Mark, thank you the advise on visor install. I am probably going to puchase a stud gun (threaded stud welder) to install the visors. I do not want to drill holes in my roofs. When are you coming to Phoenix? LOL 3 Quote Link to comment
