how do I keep my dash from cracking?

Just picked up a very clean original dash for my 68 510 with no cracks. Is there any product I can put in it to keep it from cracking or should I put a cover/cap on it to protect it? I really don't want to see this nice dash crumble like all the rest. Any suggestions?

Best to just keep out of direct sunlight and extremes of heat and cold. I use Armor-all on my dashes but some say there are chemicals in these sprays that affect the plastic adversely. Clean and waxed, no harsh chemical cleaners. That's about all I can advise.

Once you start using some products (such as Armor-All), it will start to suck the life out of your dash, and will doom it unless you keep reapplying it religiously. Water based products are the best. I use this:

I have applied it to a number of dashes and interiors, and it's done me nothing but good.
