Joseph_change
My throttle keeps on sticking. Brand new cable, lubed the hell out of it and it still sticks, maybe it has something to do with the bend in the cable? I don't know. Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
The throttle shaft may be worn and the throttle plate shifts and rubs the side of the barrel. If you give it a quick tap does it idle down? There are other linkages like the choke and the accelerator pump. Spray the carb down liberally with carb cleaner and work everything to loosen them up. Throttle cable adjusted too tight? There shouldn't be any bends just curves. Easy on the lube it attracts dirt. 1 Quote Link to comment

Yeah it does idle down if i tap it, it only sticks when I stuff the throttle (not that often :D). Curves is a better word. No bends, just curves. I'll get at the cleaning part tomorrow, don't have any carb cleaner at the moment. Thanks mike Quote Link to comment
Ratwagon1600
Acetone or better (and cheaper) methalayted spirits for carbcleaning. Stiff bristled brush to clean all the gunk off and if you have one, air blower works a treat as well. Usual safety warning applies of course, i.e. watch the stuff on your skin :) Quote Link to comment

kelowg
My chinese ebay weber, the acc pump and other linkage actually cut into each other. Grinding and sticking, lubed it and all good. Quote Link to comment
orangie
Add a return spring on the carb. Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
Properly set up, the carb should close properly with the spring on it. An extra spring isn't fixing anything and will cause additional wear on the throttle shaft. Quote Link to comment
